These young contestants of ‘Bal Tara’ rendered several melodious songs in a reception of Prakriti Giri’s father Mr. Naresh Kumar Giri from Darjeeling and members of Prakriti Fan Club of Darjeeling and Kalimpong on Friday at Titanic Park. The reception was organized by Sikkim Patrakar Manch which was attended by Mr. SB Subedi, Forest Minister, as chief guest. Mr. Kuber Dahal, Director of Culture and Heritage Affairs Department, Mr. AK Girish from Power Department, Mr. Chunni Lal Ghimiray, Mr. Dharma Bhushan were among the distinguished guests present. Father of Prakriti Giri and her fans from Kalimpong and Darjeeling came to Sikkim to request the general public here to give SMS vote for Prakriti, the daughter of the hills, as they did before in making Prashant Tamang an Indian Idol.
Appealing for the vote for Prakriti Giri, Mr. Subedi said that the son of the hills Prashant Tamang was supported by each and every individual in Sikkim. Likewise our daughter of hills should also be supported by each and every one of Sikkim without any reservations.
“Prashant Tamang has created history for every individual belonging to Nepali community by depicted unity and strength of Nepalis or people of the hills and now another opportunity has come to create another history through Prakriti Giri. So it is the responsibility of each and every one from the hills to vote for her and make her victorious”, said Mr. Chunnilal Ghimiray. Prakriti’s father requested the general public of Sikkim to vote for her daughter and conveyed his gratitude to the people for the support and affection given to her daughter till date.
