New Delhi: He was perhaps the most-feted reality show winner this year. And nearly two months after he edged out his nearest rival and country cousin Amit Paul, Indian Idol Prashant Tamang has unveiled his maiden album.
Titled Dhanyabad, the album was released by Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Chamling during a felicitation-cum-live performance programme at Paljor Stadium in Gangtok.
The album is a bilingual collection of Nepali and Hindi songs.
Thousands of hysterical fans braved the chill and drizzle and thronged the stadium to cheer for Tamang who has become the new sensation in the eastern hills.
Tamang preformed to the brigade along with another Indian Idol finalist Charu Senwal.
Acknowledging the support from Sikkim, Tamang told the rapturous crowds that the state had given him confidence to win the contest.
