'Indian Idol' to become Nepal's matinee idol

Indiainfo.com

Kathmandu: A year after Prashant Tamang took India's entertainment industry by storm with his win in the popular television reality show "Indian Idol", the 24-year-old police constable is now poised to become a matinee idol in Nepal.

The young man of Nepali origin, who owed much of his triumph to his wild fan following in this country, will now play himself in a biopic being made on his life, struggle and eventual victory.

The yet to be titled full-length feature film is the first venture of debutant director Dinesh Raj Sharma.

The script is by the "Indian Idol" himself and focuses on the artistic, mental and physical struggles he had to undergo to win a show that is watched by millions in India, Nepal, Bangladesh and the Middle East.

Besides Prashant, the other stars are Nepali film industry's most charismatic hero Rajesh Hamal, action hero Ramit Dhungana and sultry actress Jharana Thapa, who recently stirred a controversy with a media report about Bollywood baddie Shakti Kapoor "misbehaving" with her during shooting for another film in southern Nepal.

Most of the film will be shot in Sikkim and Darjeeling. Prashant was born in Tungsung village in Darjeeling district of India's West Bengal state.

He studied at St Robert's School in Darjeeling and after the death of his father Madan Tamang, who worked in West Bengal Police, joined the force where his singing talent came to the fore in the police orchestra.

Part of the film will also be shot in Nepal, where Prashant received a hero's welcome after winning the contest. Nepal's then prime minister Girija Prasad Koirala invited him to tea twice and his first concert in Kathmandu valley was sold out despite bad weather.

The shooting will start early February after Prashant, who won a Rs.10 million contract with Sony, is free to take up other commitments.

Prashant has already released an album in Nepali and has featured in a book on people who brought fame to Nepal.

He will sing his songs in the film as well besides another popular singer of Nepali origin, Bollywood celebrity Udit Narayan Jha, who was one of the "Indian Idol" judges.

Prashant Tamang brings "Namaste"

FROM CYBER SANSAR

NOVEMBER 12, 2008, KATHMANDU

Prashant Tamang is back with his second album 'Namaste' after his previous album 'Dhanyabad'. 'Aray Kya Naam' from the same album is a colorful video directed by Alok Nembang with its highlight being the performance by actress Sanchita Luitel. She saves the video from being listed among Alok's repetitive style of videos.
Three new music videos were also launched on the day by the music company Music.com. We have something interesting to share with you about these videos, 'Aray Kya Naam' by Prashant Tamang, 'School Paathshala' by Sugam Pokhrel and 'Bhuli Deu + Garo Cha Jiuna' Jabeek.
Not only this, Alok's another video was premiered, its from the Jabeek's album 'Zero Kilometer'. A slightly innovative approach has been tried with this video by pairing the two songs 'Bhuli Deu' and 'Garo Chha Jiuna' in one music video. Alok shared one interesting moment of making of this video. In the video Jabeek is buried in the sand, not completely but with his head outside. The crew had a hard time to put him in the sand as he was not that thin as he looks. Jabeek was wearing a skirt under the sand to feel comfortable.

But the showstealer video was the 'School Pathshala' directed by Prasanna Poudel. Audience's liking for the video could be seen from the long applause it received. The program host Suraj Shrestha informed that the Prasanna is the quickest director of today as he finishes making videos when other directors are just coming up with ideas. We were told that this was also the one of the video that was completed within 3 days. Can you believe it?

‘We should stand united to create a history for the second time with Gorkhaland’: Prashant Tamang.

FROM SIKKIM EXPRESS

Gangtok, December 14:
Indian Idol III winner Prashant Tamang said on Saturday that the Indian Gorkha community should remain united to create history for the second time with Gorkhaland.
“The Indian Gorkha community displayed unity to create history by making a common lad like me the winner of the Indian Idol III contest. Now, we should all be united to create history for the second time with Gorkhaland”, said Tamang while talking with Sikkim Express. He opined that only a united approach from the India Gorkha community spread all over the nation will lead to the realization of the separate State demand.
The Indian Idol III winner was in Gangtok to participate in a musical programme along with his friends, Deepali and Parleen Gill, both finalists of the reality show. The musical event is scheduled to be held today evening at Chakung, West Sikkim.
“I realized during the Indian Idol III contest that if the entire Indian Gorkha community works unitedly, we can achieve anything. But unity must be there”, Tamang emphasized. Gorkhaland is not only for the Nepalese of Darjeeling and Dooars, it is a dream for all the community spread in the nation, he said.
The Indian Idol III winner also expressed his sadness over the recent Mumbai attacks by terrorists. “I pray for the security personnel who laid down their lives while fighting the terrorists, said Tamang, himself a police personnel of the Kolkata Police.
Ruling out the speculations of success going to his head, Tamang said: “People think I have changed a lot in my attitude and behaviour after winning the Indian Idol title but it is not true. I am the same Prashant Tamang with gratitude and love for my people.”
Tamang is all set for his acting debut as one of the leads in a Nepali movie titled ‘Namastey Sikkim’ for which the shooting will start very shortly. He also said that Sony BMG had extended his contract till September next year, so he will be working with them. His second album ‘Namsakar’ is already out in the market.
Tamang’s co-competitor in Indian Idol and now close friend Parleen, while talking to SIKKIM EXPRESS said that he was overwhelmed by the hospitality and love showered upon him by the people of Sikkim and Darjeeling. “I have never felt so much love and warmth any where else,” he said. Interestingly, the friendship with Tamang has resulted in him learning a Nepali song ‘Gorkhali ko Choro hun mo’ which he will perform today at Chakung.

Book on Prashant Tamang’s Idol success released Sikkim had played an important role: Gooroong

DARJEELING, November 09: A book chronicling the rise of Prashant Tamang as the Indian Idol 3 winner was today released by former IAS officer Trilok Dewan here at Chowrastha.
The book is penned by a young writer, Gyanendra Ariwal who presents the first hand account on the metaphoric rise of an unknown Kolkata police constable to the winner’s podium of the national talent hunt show.
Titled ‘Prashant kasri Indian Idol baney (How did Prashant become the Indian Idol)’, the book is published in Nepali language. The author, Mr. Ariwal has been closely associated with the Prashant Tamang campaign as he had traveled in all parts of the nation to garner support during the Indian Idol contest.
Among those attending today’s book release was Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) president Bimal Gurung and former Chief Minister of Sikkim BB Gooroong.
In his brief address, Mr. Gooroong recollected that the entire Nepali community of India had remained united to make Prashant Tamang the Indian Idol. “Sikkim has also played an important role in this”, he said.
Pointing out the unity among the Nepali/Gurkha community in India during the Prashant Tamang blitz, Mr. Gooroong opined that a similar unity is needed for the ongoing Gorkhaland movement. Presently some people are acting as hurdles to the Gorkhaland movement and history and the coming generations will never forgive them, he said.
GJM president Bimal Gurung thanked Sikkim for its crucial support in the Prashant Tamang campaign. He added that whenever Darjeeling people had problems, Sikkim had raised a voice. He also pointed out that the statements today given by BB Gooroong was like ‘Sikkim government is speaking’.

Prashant Tamang, Nepali Aamako Chhoro, Speaks His Heart

Ravi Adhikari's Domain

No one rocked the entertainment world the way Prashant Tamang rocked. Nepal, India and the South Asian communities all over the world, came to its feet when he won title of Indian Idol-III. The humble son of a Nepali mother from Darjeeling hill, at some point, was termed as a unifier and goodwill ambassador between India and Nepal. His ethnic origin, however, was also a matter of controversy for some critics in India, especially when Nepalis all over the world poured their resource and strength for Prashant’s victory. He, however, gives credit to his karma for the sudden fame. Prashant was in San Francisco Bay area recently for a concert. In a one-on-one interview with Ravi Adhikari, the humble and plain-speaking singer spoke right from the core of his heart, about being a Nepali of Indian origin, the fame, politics and many more. Following is the excerpts of the interview:

You were a junior police officer in Kolkata, are you still working with the state of West Bengal or …?
No, I’ve not left my job yet. I just completed a 6-month leave and it has been extended for another 6 months. This will go on until I complete my works (related to Indian Idol).

How much are you enjoying your life in Mumbai, the entertainment capital of India?
So far, Mumbai so good to me. In fact, I don’t get much to live in Mumbai. We keep moving all over (India and outside India) for the shows.

You came from a small village in Darjeeling Hill, then to Kolkata, next to big Indian cities and now all over the world. How are you coping with the sudden changes?
I like to call this karma. I had never thought that I would work in a big place like Kolkata. I came here, slowly got to understand the things and was adjusted. This was a kind of hands-on training to me on city life. After this, I came to Mumbai for the auditions of Indian Idol and you all know what happened afterward.

All of sudden you got noticed by billions of people in India and all over the world. Has this name and fame changed the typical Prashant Tamang, the one you love to call yourself, Nepali Aamako Chhoro (son of a Nepali mother)?
Till now, I’ve not felt anything like that. If I tell you frankly, it will not happen – I’ll not change myself -- even in the future. The reason for that is, I’ve come to this place after a hard struggle. It was not an easy ride to be on the place where I’m today. I never felt that I’m on the top of the world. It all happened because of love and blessings from everyone. They still love me and bless me, thus the things are going well.
I don’t think anything has changed, except for learning the new things I’ve never exposed to, meeting with new people, doing the work I’ve never done before, going to the places I’ve never gone. If you call all this a change, I also admit this is a change. I’m so happy with what is happening.

What was on the top of your list that you would do after winning Indian Idol contest?
I didn’t have any plan as such. I used to perform on stages even while working with the Kolkata police. Yes, I had a wish ‘whether I’ll get chance to perform on a bigger stage and crowd.’ I used to have dreams of performing in front of huge crowd. The first and foremost, that dream has been fulfilled by winning Indian Idol.

Let’s change the topic a bit. If you won’t mind I would like to remind you that you’re an Indian of Nepali origin. But at the time when you won Indian Idol as a “Nepali” I think there was a sentiment among “Indians” that you were posing as if you were a Nepali from Nepal…
I’ve a different opinion on this issue. Nepalis don’t belong to Nepal alone. It’s a ‘Jati,’ (ethnicity). They are settled all over the world. Whether in Nepal or in India, they’re very much proud of their heritage. I think there is nothing wrong in taking pride in one’s race or ethnic background. Do you think, those who live in New York or in India, don’t have right to call themselves a Nepali. And those who live in Nepal should not say they that they are the Nepali not others. We all are Nepalis living in different parts of the world. We have same blood. We have same tongue.

What about the rumor that your sheer affection to Nepal and Nepali is pushing you toward settling down in Nepal for good?
I don’t have any plan right now. But let me tell you one thing if my karma makes me migrate into Nepal, I’m ready for it. I will have no regret. But till now I don’t know where will I settle down in future. But even if I wanted, I don’t think somebody will tell me that I cannot settle down in Nepal. Right now, I’m focusing mostly on building my career, which has been just started.

What stage of career you’re in right now?
I’m in the very first step. From here, I need to work very very hard, so that I could earn a much bigger name in (film/music) industry.

After winning Idol title, last year you released Dhanyavad, an album of Hindi/Nepali songs. Anything significant happened after this?
After dhanyabad, I have done playback singing in Nepali film. I’ve just finished recording the 2nd Nepali album, which will be released sometime in the end of September. I’ve more projects in my hand and right now I’m focusing mostly in playback singing.

With experience you have so far of Mumbai and mainstream Hindi (Indian) entertainment industry, do you think you have a future here?
More than future, I’m concentrating in putting up hard work to get established. And hard work alone doesn’t work. The success also depends on luck. The Indian entertainment industry is very much competitive. There are several reality shows in a number of TV channels and talented singers are emerging from all these shows. To me success is a mix bag of hard work and luck.

Did you get any offer in Bollywood films?
I’m very much busy with the shows (because of the contract with Sony, the producer of Indian Idol). I’ve to travel a lot.

Do you think you’re getting fair treatment from mainstream Indian media and entertainment industry?
Like many others, I used to think the same way many people think, that I would not get a fair chance but it turned out to be wrong. In India, I’m receiving a very nice response from every where. Everyone recognizes me and respects me. I’m very lucky that way.

What did you earn and learn after climbing to the ladder of fame?
When ever you talk about earning, the first thing goes to your mind is money. To me money is immaterial. No matter how much you have, it may diminish anytime. The first and foremost thing for me is, earning ijjat, respect. And the kind of ijjat I’ve earned in such a short span, very few people can do it. My luck was in my favor, thus the entire world blessed me with respect. This is the biggest earning I have.
In learning, by regularly hanging out with celebrities in Mumbai, I learned how I need to live/function like them. Thus far, the things are going perfectly.

I heard you call Nepal, Mero Sapanako Desh, a country of my dream. Nepal has been going through a lot of painful experiences for past several years. How do you feel as a Nepali, who has nothing to do with politics in Nepal?
The very first thing I want to tell you is, I’ve never thought that I’m from outside Nepal. I’ve been there in my childhood. I have very little memory of this trip. While growing up, I wanted to go but could not go because of my own situation. Now, I’ve been to USA, UK, Hong Kong, Japan, UAE, Australia, but let me tell you, I find myself the most happy in Nepal. I’m definitely not happy with what Nepal and Nepalis have been through. I don’t feel good at all.

Among several other things, the radical change in Nepal has also made Nepalis question whether their identity itself is in crisis. How do you look at these developments? If you point out at one element that could hold Nepalis together, what would be that and why?
The first and foremost thing is, every Nepali has to have one heart. We need to have unity among Nepalis. For example, I was not thinking that I would win Indian Idol contest. My family also had a similar feelings. But when everyone got united and determined that I should win the title, I won it. A Nepali won the title.

How soon we should expect you hitting mainstream?
I’m working very hard and doing everything possible. Everyone loves me, supports me and offers blessings. All this will definitely take me somewhere in a big place.

Tamang case: SC grants bail to radio jockey

New Delhi, Sep 10: The Supreme Court today granted anticipatory bail to Jonathan Nitin Brady, radio jockey of "Red FM 93.5" whose controversial remarks during a show on "Indian Idol" Prashant Tamang led to violent protests in West Bengal.

A bench of Justices R V Raveendran and L S Panta said that Brady in the event of his arrest shall be released on furnishing a personal bond of Rs 10,000 along with one surety.

Brady, shall also make himself available to the investigating officer and shall not make efforts to tamper with the evidence.

During a show on the FM channel on September 24, 2007, Brady has made some remarks that created tension in West Bengal which has a large population of the Gorkha community to which Tamang belonged to.

Though, Brady claimed that his remarks were misinterpreted, the local magistrate issued arrest warrants against him on the basis of a complaint registered under Section 153A (causing ill-will between members of different communities).

The Calcutta High Court rejected his plea for anticipatory bail, following which he approached the apex court.

Prashant Tamang's comment on Gorkhaland surprises many

Indian Idol comes to Buddha’s rescue

BY Sabyasachi Bandopadhyay INDIAN EXPRESS

Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee has for long been harping on the fact that the Gorkhaland impasse can only be solved through talks. Now, he has got Prashant Tamang, the “Indian Idol” from Darjeeling, for company. [Inset Prashant Tamang. Photo Archives]

Speaking to The Indian Express, Tamang said: “Gorkhaland or no Gorkhaland, the deadlock must be solved only through dialogue. There should not be any violence or bloodshed, as these do not lead us anywhere. I am a singer and not a politician. I just want that the problem is solved amicably.” Tamang, who won the singing competition last year, works for the Kolkata police.

He added that he was pained to see the Bengali-Nepali divide not only in the Hills but also in Siliguri. “This is the worst thing that could have happened,” said Tamang, who is currently in Mumbai on leave. The leaders of Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM), however, accused the CPM of fomenting communal tension in Siliguri and in the Hills.

“The CPM is responsible for dividing the two communities. Both the police as well as CPM cadres had attacked the Gorkhas. We can assure that the Gorkhas will never indulge in violence and get Gorkhaland through peaceful means,” said Anmol Prasad, a member of GJM’s central committee.

” Speaking to The Indian Express, Tamang said: “Gorkhaland or no Gorkhaland, the deadlock must be solved only through dialogue.”

Gorkhaland or no Gorkhaland - what does he mean ????????

Bhai you have just let down all your fellow gorkhas who supported you whole heartedly to place you up there. Good, nothing more could have been expected from you, please continue with your fame and enjoy the good things in life. In future I request you to kindly not to speak on Gorkhaland. @B. Lepcha, iwitness
the intention of this article is to dampen the spirit and hopes to achieve a rift between the people and of course our bhai Prashant. As we all know, they weave the “words spoken” in such a way that it looses it original meaning from the “words printed” my advice is dont get emotional and more importantly be “tricked” into their ploy. There are desperate attempts of the communists!

  5. Nisha Says:

prashant is too too polite with his words..or I am afraid to say the fear has gripped his mind should he be thrown from his job..or does he seem to have forgotten the days when all Nepalese from the world supported his cause of being idol..

prashant bhai..Indial Idol matrai bhayera hudaina..now is the time..be a true Idol of the Gurkhas..

  6. B Lepcha Says:

    P.J.

Maybe you could be right as the bengali’s chattupana is well known to everybody.

But before coming to any conclusion I would request Barun to check the authenticy of this article. Was this really said or is it just another trick of the communist.

I would appreciate if someone could contact Prashant bhai and check with him.

we should not tolerate such communal comments from these stooges. Had they any good arguments, they would have talked about it, but by their comments, it clearly shows that they have mouths bigger than their heads and a heart of a rat. But at the same time, we have friends and families in their community too, atleast for their sake we should respect the bengali community haina ruh?
As for the bhoj, how can we leave a member of our family, you are in it ni, goes without saying. One more thing try to get some “aila” la? ;-) Yk da, the deal is on hai!

  29. pseude Says:

HELLO, who’s making the communal comments here? All of you are having a good time mocking everything about Bengalis in this blog. Rahul made one comment, but you guys replied with a fullisade of abuses, much of it in Nepali. Anyways, if you get your rotten pleasure from this pastime, its worth you guys.

  30. pseude Says:

Keep up your good job with the abuses. We are reading every word of these and we dont want to forget.

  31. YK Shrestha Says:

Pseude, again u seem to have off day. If you have some gorkha friend (do u have any??), then have it translated and get the meaning. We have not abused bengali friends, we are just having fun among ourselves.
When ur fraternity makes communal remarks, u go on defending them and when some of our folks do, then u have a problem.

  32. P.J. Says:

    @pseude
    welcome back!
would you be so kind to point out, what abuses were said in Nepali language against the bengali community?

  33. B Lepcha Says:

Pseude…my my you seem to be going pale and blue with hatred and anger towards Gorkhas eh? Wouldnt do you any good man…..

So by now you must have understood Newtons 3rd law (If you don’t remember let me recap it for you “EVERY ACTION HAS AN EQUAL AN OPPOSTIE REACTION” So bandhu tell your people to think before they comment anything against us Gorkhas and that goes to you as well.

We believe in REPAYING IN FULL so next time you try to mess with a Gorkha you might not know what hit you..So becareful bandhu because the Bongs days are numbered now.

  34. tatu Says:

congratulations prashant tamang, you proofed, you are a true indian idol through your thoughts and speech. you are a true soldiers. dont afraid ,whole country with you. and convince bimal/roshan violance brings nothing.

  35. YK Shrestha Says:

Tatu, now you see Prashant as a true Indian, where were you when he needed ur votes? All your votes went to Amit Paul (just bcoz he is a bengali) from a different state.

  36. B Lepcha Says:

I voted for you prashant and today you really made me proud, you gave your views without being afraid of the GJM, u have proved your r a true brave Gorkha!!

  38. YK Shrestha Says:

Aiya, kahabata aayo yo nakkali Darjeeling feri???

  39. tatu Says:

dear shrestha, dont generalize, i have not only cast my vote , i have collected money from my office staff for him. because he is belongs to my dist. but, if i came to that bimal/roshan utilized this issue in a communal angel, like you . i might be refrained to do so.

  40. YK Shrestha Says:

Hard to believe that Tatu. Don’t give me that, even your Ashok Bhattacharya campaigned for Amit Paul.

  41. P.J. Says:

There seems to be a lot fakes here adopting Gorkha names trying to mislead ppl which evidently they are not, as if anyone would give them the importance of coming after them he they used their real names hai. Pathetic! Where is pseude? Or is he still getting it translated?

  42. tatu Says:

this is the problem of you people mr shrestha and p.j. you think all are like you.

  43. P.J. Says:

    Mr. Shrestha,

Without too much of orientation about the Nepalis of the hills of Darjeeling it comes easy for any visitor from another Asian country in the Middle East as where I am from to read into your extreme feverish attitude problem. Your lack of knowledge of history has produced a Brat out of you and not a so-called die hard Nepali you are trying to prove yourself to be. I do not even believe that you are a Nepali or Gorkhali for all that matters. You guys are experts in playing with semantics and going nowhere. You size up people just by reading one or two lines written by some with whom you do not agree. You are drowning in your own brat-itude because you cannot see beyond the ranges and peaks that physically encircle you. Once this youth in you comes to terms with the pains of rejection and old age you will see things differently. How naive of you to assume that all those Gorkhas who do not agree with you are faking Gorkha names. How much stranger it is that an Israeli from the Israeli Army on vacation and passionate tours to India several times over the last 35 years need to borrow names from a goof like you. How low is your low? How mentally arrested you have become. You guys are feasting on labelling weaker communicative people as retards, calling Bengalis Bongs and yet retaining Nepalis to be Gorkhas with due respect. Who are you kidding?

  46. RAJA Says:

    dear all friends,

Nisha ji I have also given so many sms votes for Prasant on that time now you peoples are saying that prasant have won only because of nepali vote from all over world!!!!

I am so shocked……then why the small cute girl from darjeeling could not make her semifinal debut in saregama pa of STAR TV??? why the nepalies from whole world did not put their effort behind her????

    strange!!!!

And I agree with you we must learn to respect each other…

    khud ko Jai karein…
Better still if we are into Gandhi vadi…
Vaishnav jan toh te ne kahiye
    je pir parayi jaaniye…

But definitely Prashant Tamang should have shown more spine and said Gorkhaland will happen and for that all parties must have an open dialogue.

  49. Relay Says:

Was the selection of this guy ( Tamang ? ) as Indian Idol somehow “fixed” by enthusiastic Gurkhas flooding the phone lines with votes ? I have seen reports somewhere that before the selection event, quite a few road blocks were set up on the way to Darjeeling to demand contributions from non Gurkhas / Tourists so as to raise money for phone calls.

Do the phone companies have record of where the calls to the Indian Idol selectors originated from ? Wonder if that money also helped boost the current agitation.

Enthusiasm, Racism are but steps towards Fascism. Can India afford to create within itself a nucleus of race based exclusivity and hate - mongering that borders on Fascism ? Is not one Kashmir enough ?

Will Barun Roy, who champions Gurkhaland, investigate and report on this matter ?

  50. Y Pradhan Says:

Sala Hamro paisa le jeetcha anta hamro nai cause lai tyesto bhancha???

    @ Tatu
You say you collected money to vote for Prashant???
    How much???

My Phone bill for that month was Rs. 17000,and I don’t even use land lines because of cell phones Did you collect that much???
There were ppl who donated in Lakhs to vote for that guy, Did you collect that much??
I have seen coolies donate Rs. 10-20 every day from their daily wages, and they earn so little.
And this happened not only in Darj but also in Sikkim and other places where nepalis are there.
I am not denying the facts that non nepalis didn’t support him but how many vots 1-2 votes per week, and the Bengalis supported Amit Paul…its a known fact. So shut ur mouth.

    @Relay
Dude If you don’t know then shut up ok.
The prilims were not vote rounds infact judges selected the contestent so how can the event you mentiond happen before selection event???? I appreciate intellegent talk not blabbering.
And what ever money was collected was donated on free will.
No body forced ppl to vote prashant….Infact I know lots of Nepali who voted Amit Paul.
Do you know Nepalis were beaten in Shillong and were forced to vote Amit paul???
Do you know that Khasi Ppl stopped Nepalis on the way and checked sent items from their cell phones to check who they voted???
OH YES! FOR THAT REPORT, YOU CAN ROLL IT AND SHOVE IT UP UR “YOU KNOW WHERE”!

    @ RAJA

The girl did not make it to the finals because the craze was what it was during Prashant’s time. Ppl did vote but not the way they did for Prashant because for prashant was the first Nepali to reach to that stage of any reality show.

Ho, abo awaj nai heryo bhane ta aru ramro ramro bhag line haru thiyo ni, prashant le kasari jityo??? Hamro Vote le.

Pahila Darban ko luga lagayera ayo, abo yo??? Uslai pani SG jastai nai garnu parcha hola.

  51. RAJA Says:

    hey y pradahan,
yaar it’s great to hear from you…..hey are you trying to say that you have given vote more than 10000 votes alone for Prasant????

If so the you peoples have cheated other contestant …you cant give vote like that….i had given vote to prasant as he was looking so innocent….not because of his voice….

by d way it’s not the question of how many votes you have sent for him or me….

if KHASIYAS peoples have resisting you peoples in meghalaya then it was very bad.

But we all should vote 1 or 2 not thousands otherwise what’s the need of these kind of reality show…..where candidate is already selected by the statehood/race/etc etc…

  52. RAJA Says:

    Mr.Y Pradhan,

can you please write what you have written in Hindi or English…..as i dont know nepali…

  53. Y Pradhan Says:

    Raja,

What I wrote in Nepali was not meant for you.
And as far as cheating is concerned there was no restriction on how many vots can on vote. its not a Parliamentry election which said 1 vote per person. It said keep on voting for your favorite constant and that was done.

Come on Shlomo Yitttzak, whoever u r. If you are truly an Israeli, why don’t u go and fight the Palestines? I have always been a supporter of Israel as I’m a Christian and I have this desire to walk down the path that Jesus had walked. Whom are you trying to fool by borrowing that Jewish name? The way u r writing reflects a bengali person. Either you have run away from Israel from fear of defending your borders against the Palestines and have been here in India for too long to know everything about Darjeeling or you are a fake. If you are a true Jew, then I salute you for your views, because we do not necessarily believe that every non-bengali would believe with our views. If you are a true Israeli, then you can take my mail id and contact no from the moderator and let’s have a chat brother.
I’m not a youth like you, I’m well past 48 years, so don’t give me lessons.

Didn’t the supporters of Amit Paul in Meghalaya (those khasis who have been butting ur guys all the time, I wonder what happened to them that time) bar the Gorkhas from voting? The DG of Shillong is a Gorkha, but he played a non-partisan and neutral role, but the chief secy of Meghalay Govt (who happens to be a bengali) had the cheek to call upon the WB govt. to support Amit Paul. The bengali MLA of Meghalaya donated 1 crore for voting. Who is more racist, communal? Do u have any answer??

    Dear dear Raja,

I accept the truth that I had said all Nepalese were united for the cause of Prashant..but why did you not notice the lines to be followed..get your eyes checked up dude!!! re-read my lines again…
(ofcourse I accept the truth…Prashant wont not only coz whole of the Nepalese were united..but I was always happy to know that our Indian brother and sisters joined hands to bring him to that level..)

i am sick and really sick of you guys..!!

what made you think we were abusing you guys? If so many Nepalese can speak and read your bong language..why dont you too try to read our language..or before you start getting any wrong notions about our comments..get it translated..for free!!

    ufff!!! its so suffocating here…!!!

    A trivia:
Cute li’l Prakriti Giri dint win because when the top 2 had to be selected out of 3, selection process was altered!
The voting comprised of 50% Judges’ vote and 50% public’s. Besides, one telephone number could vote only once in 30 minutes.
Simply to say, Sa Re Ga Ma was scared as hell of Gorkhas’ might! :) And used all the measures to bar us from making another winner!
I know the other contestants were better than Prakriti and deserved to go to finals, but same was the case in Indian Idol, wasn’t it?
Yet, our Prashant bhai won, what that sums up to is, we have the will and attitude to defy the assumptions and come out victorious!
    And we’ll do it again!
Haami aru kehi jaandainau, Gorkhaland haami liyera ni chhaadchau!

Voting like that would be considered as CHEATING anywhere else in the world. This shows that the Gurkhas are a bunch of law - breaking hooligans with no respect for democratic norms. Letting these fascist thugs have a state of their own would be as big a blunder as dealing with the Kashmiri Moslems or mad dogs in a humane way.

  65. Nisha Says:

Your worst suspicions indeed has come out true..coz you can only think of the worst..!! If the Gurkhas and all the Nepalese including our Indian friends have voted for Prashant several times..then in parallel goes the voting for Amit Paul for whom you have voted more than once..
c’mon yaar! dont talk stupidly here! everyone knows the truth..!! bacche logo ko class de rakha samjha hai kya..!!??

Brother, seems you lack the basic understanding needed to sustain your standard thought-process. What did you just say? “Voting like that would be considered as CHEATING anywhere else in the world.” Who says so? Is it something that we missed while voting? I dint know bulk voting with your own money was cheating! Thank you for enlightening moron!
“This shows that the Gorkhas are a bunch of law - breaking hooligans with no respect for democratic norms.” -The Indian govt. knows, the IT companies set up in Salt Lake Sector 5 knows, who is law-breaking hooligans! Some minister falls sick and you guys call for bandhs! and you call us Law breaking hooligans, what an irony!! The very reason behind top IT companies not coming to Kolkata is your kind has no respect for them, their work culture. How long will you bask in the glory of Netaji Subash and Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore?
“Letting these fascist thugs have a state of their own would be as big a blunder as dealing with the Kashmiri Moslems or mad dogs in a humane way.” - Now you only tell me who is fascist! :) You already are black as a crow(my assumption), please don’t sound like one(my observation)!
It might or might not be a blunder(you think so) to give us what we rightfully possess, but it has been a bigger blunder to be ruled by West Bengal Govt.
Thank but no thanks, we have had enough!

    Yours acrimoniously

The hatred is brewing, “thebengali” sorry to disappoint you I had a great upbringing, my mom and dad taught me well and I’m doing pretty good, Its so disappointing to see you not understanding the youth opening their eyes and seeing and understanding what is happening, now you’re trying to break us down, with your filthy policy of separating our people…the divide and rule policy…. its just “deep south craters (in the human body)..hope i framed it well to hide obscenity in my language for your discretion…that make me want to abuse you ;) we can go all out son…we can go on and on…we want a separate state as we have been ignored for long. now since we’re getting National and International media coverage regarding this issue, by the way i’m based in the UK, brought up in Kalimpong, your state govt. wants to utilize all its SOS policies of all sorts of crash courses to ensure development in our region which it had no concern for such a long time, only ensuring its dogs in the DGHC were happily fed, we were fooled once, we can’t be fooled twice, we’re more Nation concerned than you are SIR!! We have our boys fighting for ‘our nation’ in the borders sacrificing their lives!!!! If you still don’t get it go on finish that ‘pop-sickle’…NO HARD FEELINGS TO MY OTHER BENGALI BROTHERS..THIS DUDE HAS IT COMING..SUPPORT THIS MOVEMENT AND HELP OUR PEOPLE GROW”

Some of them are repeating the same thing again and again that’s why I stopped commenting here long time ago. I believe in healthy discussion not in a baseless argument.
